The rainbow is used a lot. I use it as a symbol for expanded vision, derived from the idea of a full spectrum. ( some rainbows past ) Today I like the idea of a patch of expanded vision. Or even a rainbow as a moment of weather, which then could move expanded personal vision in to a new from, like an environment depending on something like weather. Weather as a state of mind. I like that a lot.
The cloth base here is 2 layers of cotton voile, a very light weight cotton used in curtains and blouses. Voile is not a cheap cloth since it is made with very fine combed cotton. I usually recycle my old clothing or those of friends and family members or rescue old worn garments or curtains from the thrift shop. The stitching was done with 2 strands of embroidery floss. I usually use short ends from my leftover thread nest for work like this.
I wonder what this would look like using a more moody ground cloth. Or if I made it Very Large. These small journeys are my doodles in a way.
