Today I have organized my thoughts in a new way. And I have imagined a new kind of component...piece of the puzzle of what I make, do, say. I think the page fits to so many of my forward and past thoughts. Makes them current. Page. Not book. Page. A page as a unit of measure. A page as a unit of story. A step in telling. A page as a window. A frame, a context. A page as a document. How cloth might be paper.
A page as a base. For What if.
Format. 5 inches x 7 inches.
Invisible baste and piecing method from here.
Random whites (and not so whites)mostly cotton with a bit of linen.
Stitched with 2 strands of white floss. 5 squares a day for 7 days.As it happened, recording one week.
Squares basted flat with one strand of white floss. Also basted around the perimeter of the finished page.
I decided to use the rectangular page format, to be like a traditional "page". Still the 9 patch still fits squarely in the center. Like a window to previous thoughts. I think the idea of page makes a permanent connection that strings moments together however seemingly scattered. A story waiting to be told.
