it seems i might be able to communicate something through cloth making. i hope so. this blog is a personal journey into gift giving and story cloth. one step at a time. and diversions along the way.

piece and quiet

Star_blocks this small project was started for no other reason than to just GET BACK to the basics of hand stitched patchwork, sewing tiny orderly pieces together. i got involved a bit in some new ideas ...the star blocks and see through in particular...which i will carry forward in other projects. right now i am letting this form on its own with out any outside pressure. i am a bit over extended and feeling tight. i know that feeling. i need to back off a bit. and curl up in a ball for a while. It's always good to retreat back to the cave for a while. Cycle in, cycle out...

Nice title for this work -- I see the connections (intentional from the beginning or not) now.

Beautiful project!
Kind regards

Your daily meditations are so inspiring Jude.I hope you find the peace and quiet you need through this piece-it's beautiful.

so nice.

i can't wait for the other corner.

and curling up in a ball can be productive, too.

thank you all...and jan yes, it is easy to roll around....rollin' like a ri-iver!

i recognize that feeling all too well. it's not my favorite. pieceful stitching, a good antidote.

what a lovely piece, Jude. I make things by hand--it can be such a grounding meditative process.

the transparencies are really intriguing and beautiful.
i own this book, tiny embroidery, tiny garden:

and she embroiders over tulle, another transparency thing which is beautiful. not as pretty as this though, i think.

lovely work. I am really drawn to that stripey circle in the upper right. hope you're feeling looser and happier really soon.

I've been reading from afar, but haven't commented before. I love this - it so homely and comfortable. Really does make one want to curl up with it and sew.

i like the mood of this piece

neki desu
aka jackie o :D

hope you can carve off some serious time off to curl up and recharge.

if this piece is as tiny as it appears you are truly a magician of the stitch. quite amazing!

sending beautiful spring thoughts your way!

I spy! Those tiny dark squares...

What beautiful quilts you can create!

Hand piecing is so much a part of your creativity. The moving hand obviously stimulates your imagination...
