quilting off center
....i really should learn to trust in the seasons. nature's changes are very reassuring. the fever we call spring has inspired the return of my core project for the year. i have spring FEVER. i've begun to extend the edges of the quilt which, like the reversible aspect of 'listen to the river', is the experimental part of this project. ...every project needs something that can be a question answered.... i have cut (a milestone) into the old quilts. oh the relief of letting them go! i am simply butting them together and laying a strip of green corduroy over the break. on both sides. and stitching through. it will be fine and the break between the sections will allow the piece to absorb extra drape.
what i am really paying attention to now...is how the center shifts each time i add a new edge. i will think about this some more.
the winner is # 5. and i need an address. i am too tired today, BUT, i have decided that gifting, like vitamins, will be a one-a-day routine for me starting tomorrow. tomorrow the gift packet will be velvets. another 10 numbers please...
I love how everything you add seems to belong where it is and how it is done. Always inspiring to see something you make develop and read the story that goes with it :)

cut-relief-letting go. yes. like what you said about projects should answer a question, too, though sometimes mine tend to ask questions. which is okay cause i mostly prefer questions anyway. put my name beside #10, please ma'am.

I love your work. You have really have inspired me to start going through my fabrics and supplies again. Everything you do seems so natural. Fever is wonderful and I love the additions. I pick number 4, if it is not already taken.

this piece has really defined itself as a personal vision quest, no? I typed that a few hours ago in the meantime somebody special to me has been around and some of your "vitamins" have gone home with her she is happy now instead of anxious & stressed as when she arrived...

I wowed my daughter a couple of days ago with pictures of your visual diary. She ran off and started one immediately.
She is on the couch with a cold and has been working for 2 days straight.
I think it was the picture of the dude in the water with the mountains behind and the fish poking up?
Big hit, mate. BIG hit.

Jude - you are breathing more and more life into this quilt every day. With each patch, each stitch it is speaking louder and louder. Soon it will be screaming. Beautiful.

What a wonderful surprise to see this in it's entirety. i was wondering if it still held much of it's original black and white -- and it does. The checkerboard border compliments the roots of the quilt beautifully. I'm liking an off center center and hope it stays that way with the addition of any more borders.
