the free surfacing of coma has become my evening project. i have a big basket of scraps that sits beside me along with some fabric pens and a bag of thread-crumbs. and i am just zoning in on one small section at a time without opening the piece up to see how it is changing. i am just going. grabbing scraps and thread randomly. fitting them in. carrying the grid system through some of the more liquid areas. using this slow cloth as sponge to soak up all my new but undefined energy. i feel myself moving toward a different kind of work but i need to stitch mindlessly. to get it to form a shape in my head.
meanwhile i use the days to make more small cloth. to play. use up old ideas. finish up old projects. and clear space for what ever it is that seems to be coming.
i will leave wednesdays for doodles until summer ends. then i will gel the workshop/ tutorial ideas into something to fill up the cooler days of the year. right now i want to spend more time unplugged and outside.
