It is time to cut my fabric collection in half.
There is no attic or second floor in this house. We knocked the ceilings out and there are 2 loft areas accessed by a ladder on one side and stairs on the other. One half is where the cloth lives ( I can only stand up in the middle). Anyway, I have too much.
I am cutting everything in half. Right down the middle. I will give some away. And put some in the shop in some way that makes sense. I will still probably have more than enough. Hope not. We'll see. The cloth I have is not cloth you can usually buy anywhere. Mostly samples I designed for a company I worked for. Some vintage. Some found and collected from afar. Some gifted. Some weathered. Some even handwoven. A lot reworked with dye and stitch. Lots of big pieces but even more tiny ones. Different. Hate to part with it, but hate even more to see it go unused. Unseen even.
I'll be off to Mom's for awhile. Helping my brother with setting up home hospice. Maybe I will clean house when I get back.
It is startling really to realize that you need 1/2 of what you have. Or less. What are we thinking?
