smashed applique

another applique term for me, "smashed applique". (dedicated to master fabric manipulator danny mansmith) never mind cutting the fabric to fit, just make it fit and stitch it down, folds, pucker and all! i think this will work well with very gauzy sheer fabrics and also shiny fabrics. i may just wet some circles, squish them up and then iron them flat and stitch them down , like little blossoms that have fallen to the ground. the texture possibilities here inspire me to do a whole smashed applique piece, but that will have to be later.  my tips and techniques will be back up soon, i took it down to reformat it.
