stitching over the crayon dots reminded me of airborne seeds. i love the way stitching softens the colors and melts them into the fabric even more.
and a lion is appearing in the backyard garden, i think it is walter with a soft velvet winter body that catches stray seeds, a sun-ray head of hair to generate warmth and magic whiskers to guide him down the spring path, a dandy lion indeed. and as the season changes, he will come to be known by new name .

...using the scrap bag collage technique to design this block and to build this lion story. amazingly it all started with that orange batik that just said lion. a face in the fabric like animals shapes in the clouds or the man in the moon.
