work has begun on one of several door panels. walter doesn't like his front door , among other things, he is still renovating his little house. and i am adding doors here and there to the quilt, in strategic places , between this and that, defining and transforming edges into opportunities. i haven't decided on how to handle hinges yet but i think i will use a button for the doorknob. (a covered one a-la-stephanie). the doors will open and close. little swinging quilt-lets, more layers and backs and fronts and insides and outsides...and... the doors will be speaking doors, whispering keepers of peaceful transition and acceptance. (and time travel)
the leaves were cut from the back of an old worn quilt and will continue to disappear gradually. i plan to stitch them so their skeletons will remain after the fabric is gone.
the holes from what if #13 are working well as stars as well as symbols here. (little doors)
the edging was turned on 3 sides but i like the way the back of it fits into the puzzle on the left so i will leave it that way. it wasn't planned, i just stood still and was witness ...
and so again i have learned to slow down, rushing forward with a closed mind (door) may cause many a missed magical moment.
and possible injury.
