putting things behind you is always the start of a new journey... my stressing about being visible is over (thank you for all the support) and the finished works that have been published will leave as gifts soon enough...making room for new adventures.
....i have actually started stitching on a piece started long ago because although it seemed too dark and moody at the time, the shortening days have me thinking about darkness and how to embrace it. i sometimes think of life's small journeys as walking into the darkness, being afraid....and finding the courage to leave your comfort zone see what you can see no matter what the risk.
.....my (other) brother, nemo, has always been a traveler. he took off from home early. i always remember him being somewhere else. year after year he would settle in...out there... for a while. reading, writing and keeping fabulous journals ... he has just started to share these journals on his new blog. he is new to blogging but once he gets himself together i think it will be a wonderful collection of stories. i now realize that a lot of my fascination with ethnic style and small journeys evolved from a continuous flow of treasures and tales collected during his travels.
meanwhile.... the ship has come in once again. many treasures from elswhere have been gathered together down at the Union Square Holiday Market in NYC. the booth is "its a jungle out there" open Nov 22th to Dec. 24th, 11am - 8pm. stop by if you are in new york over the holidays.
