i have adopted one of the roof dots and will bring it inside to make a small terrarium. it is so soft and welcoming. it contains something comforting and reassuring ...like this and this and now i am watching this. is that certain something we like so much about velvet...perhaps a reminder of a mossy place to rest?
... i am finishing up the second stepping stone piece which i have renamed a map for a soft journey. a bit more velvet was added...a circular mask allowing the original markings to show through, so it is a dot with a soft frame. a soft spot in reverse. my son brought me this piece of vintage velvet as a gift when he returned from a cross country trip. it is a gorgeous textile and this gift has made the soft spot in my heart for him a little larger.
(a lot of the little soft spots i have for the work of others show up in the i really like this spot in my sidebar. maybe you will like them too).
