black

 when i was young i always loved black.  it was quite the fashion in an underground sort of way.  i wore black all the time and even painted a room black.  i just uncovered one of my first patchwork pieces.  i used to sew with black thread. this had a visual impact since the stitches show in the overcast (english paper piecing) method... i always thought the dark thread made it look a bit like stained glass.  i have chosen this fragment to be the backing of " a soft scream" .  it contains a history of a more unstable time.  and some holes.
