The Magic Cloth- day 50... I have started to put together some additional components for The Magic Cloth. The moon blocks will be story leads for long cloth elements as mentioned in my previous post. Before I continue to talk about component quilting in general, I want to explain one of the basic hand stitched techniques that I use for piecing. It seems like a good place to start my technique tutorials. I have been asked by several people to explain this method that I call paperless piecing, so what better way than to show you. Please excuse the choppiness and sound jumps in this video. some microphone issues degraded the sound in some places so we had to cut it up a bit. That will all be fixed soon.
Today I am continuing with another component made the same way. The magic checkerboard is made up of one inch squares and will be a background filler element for the corners of the cloth.
