I opened my mailbox the other day and was surprised by a little unexpected envelope. How pleased I was to find a little thank you note inside along with a few special treats. A thank you for sharing, a bee to keep, a few shibori scraps from a class given by Glennis and a thank you for that connection.
I do eventually use the fragments I receive as gifts. Although sometimes it takes a long time, they mean so much to me. . It is like a thank you back. It is the way I can appreciate when words fail me. It is a way to connect these threads of kindness.
Today I am thinking again about teaching. How much teaching is like storytelling. Passing thought from one to another. A gift giving process. How it connects and feeds us all in the long run.
And so I made the bee keeper. Made with some people threads holding scraps of story together. Maybe a teaching cloth. The ground is woven from honey colored gifted scraps in silk and cotton. Because I was thinking how sweet it is, this sharing of knowledge. Thank you. Thank you all.
...and a big thank you to all you bees.
