The garden is on the edge of the hill and with all the heat the forest has grown to meet what is planted... I have tried, at the last minute, to trellis things to keep them off the ground and growing upward. The squash and cucumbers have already become tangled in the wild edge of the woods. So this morning's walk involved dodging mosquitos as I foraged for vegetables among the overgrowth. There is so much to pick this year. The rabbits are happy and so are we. At least all the heat and humidity are good for something.

And I compensate by making a few orderly stitches. To fake some sort of control. Neatness is like that. It covers up a lot of chaos.

I am brushing up on pattern making and a little hand piecing for the beasts workshop. It's a blast.
I used the backside of a pigment printed linen. It looks just like stone.
The nice thing about stitching a beast is that you can get up real close. This one is for for Grace.
