so i have been dipping and soaking and have gathered a few walnut dyed cloths that i will be using in a new big cloth that i have started in diaries. i looked at all the shades obtained from one plant, loving the deeper ones, and thinking, what a difference a day makes. so i will continue through autumn and into winter, moving to pots to the studio wood stove, dyeing browns for my new "year of brown" as it comes closer. i think this fits so nicely with sympathetic evolution concept and all that implies. especially after i rocked to the earth's big and surprising sigh yesterday and even felt some pleasure in that. the whole studio was swaying, perhaps forever changed by the reminder of a new rhythm.
and i am more conscious of this awareness of parts of things. the walls are covered with cloth. and each little thing becomes part of something else, and then from day to day, something else again. parts of me, and others, included. i am starting to feel like cloth.
one little thing can bring focus to chaos. bring the present into the past or the other way around. making things whole. connecting the dots has more than one dimension. this is what i am feeling this morning.
next to me, a stack of 105 107 feathers, amazing really. since many have asked, i will be collecting feathers through the end of the year, with more than one project in mind. i have enough now to start thinking about how i might put them together... maybe i will put together a few themes/ideas for feather friday, to give some direction for those of you who are still planning to join in but haven't started yet.
another september-like august day here, the earth has shifted and i cannnot wait to see what happens next. reminder to self:
stack some wood.
stack some wood.
stack some wood.
