and there was no snow. but it is very cold.

today i added a cornerstone. and then 3 more. because it seemed to anchor the thing. hold it down. keep it from blowing away in the wind.
i am noticing the color arrangement has offered a warm side and i am focusing on that today while i am at mom's. the big chill continues.
but the sun is out. warm and cool, another kind of natural order. very related to light and dark i think.
i will have many house guests about to arrive and no way to spend time at the computer for a while. i am taking a break and will be back in about 2 weeks. maybe a photo here and there if i can manage. i will probably fall behind posting the feathers that come floating in. see you later.

finally some seasonal air. a big cold wind like thing blew in today.
the flue is broken so i cover the opening to the fireplace at night to keep all the warm air from being sucked out. whoosh yah!
i dyed some wool , an old wool blanket...( thank you grace) indigo. oak, pomegranate/copper pot, madder/oak.
...and the moths got the old sweater again , so i am patching with more wool stars.
some cold wind. brrrrrrrr. and cold words today....brrrrrr. made me feel the need for extra warmth. sometimes i am disappointed in the outcome of some of my efforts to communicate. still i will probably keep going. because that is what i do. to prove that communication is possible. but who knows? who can know?

i decided, if coma was to be hung, i would like it this way. the heaviness naturally falling to the bottom. in real life, the cloth is actually becoming a sleeping bag. some sort of human container. cocoon. the back will be separate cloth (s). detachable. attachable. i am chasing something safe and warm (cool) for a sudden change of season. i think function, merged with design, is always a strong statement.
i have noticed lately that a lot of my cloths have some sort natural light and dark side. a natural order that happens over and over. sometimes these things happen by themselves because you have them in your head. i when i was about 8, i remember dad showing me how to shade things with india ink cross hatching. i remember that i was really amazed. shading. a dark side. appropriate here, for coma. but not planned outright. just realized through process.

today, anticipating colder nights, i moved the potted plants off the deck, into the house. the clay pots left rings on the wood. aren't they beautiful? they sell plastic guards to prevent this from happening. and people buy them.
later, i tried isolating some pomegranate dye inside the ring. on cloth. nice. change is inspiration. preventing it might inhibit what makes us think.
i also tried filling some rings with marks. thread marks.
this yellow stone now seems like a sun dial. moon dial?
rays. rays are like fringe.
