caught

i feel a bit in between lately, so i could relate to this .  caught in between but only good things really.

as i move forward into december, the simplify thing has me again, cleaning house and trying to make a quieter place.  i have 2 pages on facebook. one for my creative endeavors  and one personal page.  i will be (once again) cleaning the personal page to only include close friends and family. i put a note up on fb but just as a reminder, you can follow the spirit cloth page if you want to track me there. i will be deleting most of my "friends" who probably came in to follow spirit cloth anyway.  it is just a way to organize and keep personal life separate. cool? cool. you can find the link to the spiritcloth page in my left sidebar.

the wind came up, and i caught the word sky. so sandra, you are the winner of the constellation cloth.  i used leaves instead of paper, because they are like brown paper at this point, and they are there. and the rest of your words are out there floating on the wind. and not looking like litter. i wanted to film it but the wind was quick and swift and it was all over, just like that. poof.

 simplify will apply to more changes here. but i will go slow so it won't be too confusing.

it's like mending really.

part of a thought

i am thinking that my thoughts, as expressed, are only parts of thoughts. i want more than that. i am also drifting back to paint and paper. i am sure i will drift back again.

today was like a space. a place separate from worry. and there was warm wind, leaves, and looking back. there was wondering about time. about art. about everything.  and most of all there was no noise. the electric kind.  no buzzing. only purring.

it is that monday and i am going offline.

just a day

still way warm here, damp and spring-like even though the leaves have fallen. there has been a lot of water this year.

there was water on everything this morning, even though it hadn't rained.

many storms and extensive tree damage have opened the view, the old sea down the hill seems close enough to touch now.

the dampness here is part of life. it leaves its mark on everything. today i noticed that my studio has a ragged edge.

i spent the day walking and didn't stitch a stitch.

i hear it may rain tomorrow, the day after that and the day after that.

moon stones

perhaps very old stones might be light enough to ride on the wind.  memories of stones perhaps. if you wait long enough, the past becomes soft and thin and lighter. easier to see through.

what's left in novemeber

the leaves are worn and tattered, but they are still here, like an old blanket, patches of season, still useful, keeping the earth warm.

and she, remember her?, she has fallen over, hollow in spots, she is tired. resting in leaves, maybe posing. maybe.

a squirrel friend has found the basket of unused walnuts. he ate the nuts, but left the husks nearby.  a reminder that in a small and careful world, we work together and there is enough to go around isn't there ? i have a little bag of leftovers for him for when the snow comes. i will know him. he will be the one with the brown hands.

feather friday again

just a bit of personal constellation cloth i finished up at mom's yesterday.  i've quite a few new november feathers to post over at the gathering place this weekend.  and thoughts are coming together for my first cloth for the magic feather project. i will post my progress here on fridays.  yes, i am accepting feathers until the end of the year as well as 5" squares of any naturally dyed cloth in addition to the  stitched feathers.  i have decided to back off from the embroidered names idea for a while until i see how my thoughts form.

please, as a reminder, i am making usable and washable blankets/ cloths from the donations. i cannot use anything with other materials attached.  consider small children.  and of course, just thread and cloth, that's my thing. 

so there is no black friday in my world. and to honor buy nothing friday, this one is a giveaway. just a bit of lightness imagined at the end of the tunnel.  just leave one word as a comment.  i will write them on a little scrap of paper, toss them all into the wind and see which one i catch first.
