You know, when you are really busy, when you have a list of things a mile long. To Do. Oh, you think, I better get going, do those things, I need to do those things. And then, well, you don't do those things. Instead you do something else. Anything else.

Pick salad. Because it is there and a salad would be delicious.

Or notice a little friend just going. This seems like quite a long break, because your little friend is going really slowly, but it is so soothing to watch each step measured and sure. Even if it is a journey to eat all the leaves off the trees.

And then you line up a few leftovers from some other things, just to use them, just to see how they will look. It only takes a minute. And then just a moment more to think... gee, that could almost be a self portrait. What if we are just of a collection of leftovers arranged in a way that works at the moment?
I know, I have driven folks around me a bit batty at times. I know they have often thought, "what is she thinking?". Now I just do it for them. It is good to know. Creative thought is strongly present in the moments we need to escape. The height of invention. It just takes a moment, in between what you have to do, to think about what you might want to do and how you might do it. I never pass up the chance to daydream.
