Big storms flattened a lot of the garden. Moonflowers down, sunflowers, some a bit tattered, still standing.
And so is the Japanese indigo. Thigh high this year with all the heat and rain and constant compost dressing. I harvested most of it, I am leaving some for seeds. I planted last year's seeds directly in the garden this year, a bit later. in early June, after the first crop sown from purchased seeds, indoors, was lost to early season mold after transplanting. These direct sewn plants are quite amazing. They are strong, less spindly and grew at a steady and rapid rate.
