Woven self portrait in process.
With a one inch square in the center of course.
Of course.
The name of the collection is Sanity. Nine hundred pieces. (seriously) Some still in process. It has taken a lot of patience to get here. Still looking for the right space to hang them. Still stitching as well.
I was talking with Mom last night. About having a show. How it would be nice to have just one, that could contain a whole life. All of it. Before you die. All of it. How timing that could be a bit tricky. We laughed. A good laugh. About knowing and what that means.
Please do not "Pin " this image. Thank you.

The amount of rain and warm temperature here is bizarre. In terms of what we know as climate. 5" of rain water pooled outside my front door. And rising. The wet has highlighted the sudden overnight arrival of Change.
Here it comes. Maybe it was the wet, the red, the drip...
Sometimes I thought, sudden change can be like a wound. I stitched that into the Harvest Moon. I feel different today and I am not quite used to it yet. The big question, can I communicate (?), the scope of that, is back. Biting me.
I will sit with the feather cloth today. I'll let you know how that goes....

I ( we) went to New York City. To visit my son. He is working on a hotel renovation. This picture, of old paint peeling. It is so much like cloth. Old cloth. So. Thinking about layers. And how related that is to context. And thinking about New York City. My relationship to it. And workshops. And things. How they peel away. Revealing other things.

This has made me sad. This. And some recent experiences of my own have shaken my trust a bit. This is a section of a piece I started a while ago. Adapting some shibori techniques I learned in Glennis's class. In attempts to use her teaching to find my own way with it. A patchwork. Because that is what I do. And now just using it to illustrate a new path. Find your own wings folks. Make the world a beautiful place by adding your own story. Don't tear what we give apart. We are all trying to make a living here. But not at someone else's expense. If you need help it is better to ask for it.
Meanwhile we (all of you who get it) , the often shattered, will keep putting the pieces back together, mending the holes, making this internet a web of kindness, because this is what we have learned to do. Good thing.

If the path before you is clear,
you are probably on
someone else's.
