The last of the indigo blossoms have been gathered. Among busy bees. The last of the summer's fresh leaf dye baths yielded a bit of faded color. After the plant blooms, the leaves are tired... even after an overnight dip, I only get a very light blue, a turquoise and eventually a greyed green. And then nothing. All beautiful as a record of the change in temperature and season.
Somehow , today, I like these colors the best, the ones that struggle to be.
Maybe a dip in the walnut pot will make them into some sort of transitional shades.
The colors of in-between.
