White into Windows

And so,  What-if Diaries  led me in and out of white and not so white (and oh I will be back there a lot) and into my new focus ...whispering and what-iffing Windows.  You probably noticed that already.   It's all about through.  It all happened like some sort of natural order.

I see you.

No worse for Wear

I caught sight of this worn out patch this morning.  I don't mind it. This little window.  The cloth has no batting so it is just a soft green flannel  that shows through.  It is just right in a way.  Being able to see inside and  that not being disturbing or ugly in anyway.  A relationship  should be like that. 

No worse for wear.

Being there on Wednesday

 

Two birds hit the window this morning.  Simultaneously.  A pair. Traveling companions.

After a while, one got up , stunned and gasping,  and eventually flew away. 

Alone. The other didn't.

A beautiful stillness.

 

Ode to a wood thrush then.

Just a little evidence of having been there.

A thank you for a sweet song.

An unfinished  cloth  from  Diaries.   I named it  To Dream .   And it doesn't matter that it isn't finished.   Dreams never are.

Actually had a fire going this weekend
Season has developed a mind of its own around here lately.  Or more probably we just think we know what to expect from Mother Nature.  Not.

First Figs.

This one stays in a container and will be brought inside in the winter.  Because you never know what to expect from Mother Nature.

And strawberries.  Also in pots this year.  Just to keep them contained.

I changed my mind about a lot of things yesterday, so there is a new picture here.  I lost the little thing I planned to give a way so Poof to that.  And all the comments that don't fit to this post anymore.

I make  dough every morning now.  Good exercise.

As it turns out

 

More feathers than ever imagined....  

are still patiently awaiting their turn

 

As you might recall, I was pinning up the remaining feathers on the wall (right over the lion quilt), sorting them by color,  to see what was left.  I might have enough for another cloth. Or 2.  This is not all of them, I ran out of pins.  And then there are the stones.  This thing is so much bigger than what I had envisioned.  I will be using some of these in the first cloth, but what if I use the white/ light background ones in a new cloth. ?  And I am thinking of collecting some new components.  Oh my mind is whirling.

OK I posted enough these past days.  Back to Diaries for a while.

Studio stuff

As  I continue making space,  I put the stuff that is  hardest to part with in the studio.  Expecting that some of it will have to stay.   The floor here is a kind of patchwork.  Pieces of wood stood on end,  but never really finished  by the previous owner of this place.  It wiggles. The wiggly floor.  I mentioned that once before.  It is still like that, but now that I have removed all the carpets, I am looking at it again.  It will probably have to go if this space becomes a greenhouse.  Maybe just cement with a drain in the floor.   There is no finish on the wood.  I could burn it.
The book.  It's a keeper,  mentioned back here.
The basket, well, baskets  are useful.  This one is quite amazing really.  It has cloth trim  and feet.

From Indonesia.   I wish I knew more of its story.   I am thinking a lot about that lately.   Knowing more about what you keep.   One of these days I will write a little story about it while it has been here.  And hide it inside,  to be found.  With a kind request to continue it.   Message in a bottle  basket,
