Well the first acorn hit the deck around 5 AM. Pushed by a squirrel really. They've begun preparations. Is it possible we are here already?

An acorn then. I'll add one here. On this cloth. To express the move through season. This one has done that already. It's a long cloth, there's room for going.

The roof needs work. The garden too.

House of Stray, now aka Ready for What's Next. A stray is always, by nature, readying for what comes next.

Tonight we will stop by the house down the road a piece. They have invited us to a small gathering. Their friend, Geoff Achison, from Australia, is performing at the house. Food and music. We were not familiar, but I found him on You Tube. We don't much mingle around here. But we will stop by. They are not much for mingling either. So perhaps we have more in common than we knew. And I play the guitar. One of these days, I will play for you.

When I began the project I call Loose Pages, How things float is what I was thinking. This project never really ends. Because as long as I am thinking, layers are added. It started out in a shoebox. My way of keeping thoughts gathered loosely. It evolved into a sort of curiosity, how is it that thought travels ? Encourages new form? How do ideas build?

And then, although I was really focused on the thing , the book, that might emerge from all of this... well then the process itself started to grab my attention. So although sharing the content, the thoughts, the evolution of ideas was my first goal, The Loose Page process became something equally as important to share.

On my mind today is Sharing. The Art of Sharing. How long it takes, like everything else, to master that. Anyway. 2017 will be a big year. And it will be here before we know it.

Over the Edge

Today (Continued from Yesterday)...oh ha!

Today is going to be a hot one.

I'm still quilting House of Stray.

I'm doing it in a way I call Quilting over the Edge.  I've included here, a video from a while back. I have also created a Quilting Page over at Feel Free. Because I'll be collecting all my old considerings about that. That is what I'll be doing in September. The Feel Free Index list has been removed from the blog sidebar. Because it is about to get Way too big.  Instead the list has been moved to a separate page, Just click Feel Free Index. I also included a link to what's new.

Over the edge quilting holds raw edges well. And opens up many visual possibilities. This video is from an old post HERE.

I like how the strays now seem to be framed by transition.

The sense of holding yet freedom in that.
