It's cool. And it keeps raining.
No new planting. Just Continuing.
I've nothing new to show you. Except this.
I'm resting in the green. It was a soft weekend. No news. Just green.

Yesterday. I spent the day being kind.
Purposefully and Unconditionally, yet Quietly kind. And I felt so cleansed at the end of it all. Then I stitched.
And suddenly my video mojo returned.

So just that. One strand this time. To retain lightness. Sometimes, a lot of times, stitching overpowers design. Quilting especially. Sometimes by not being visible or at least being aware of presence, sympathetic to possibility, a stitch can be kind to the eye and to the cloth. And still hold things together.
It's raining again.

Roof.
A roof is about protection.
I used 3 strands of floss for the running walking stitch roof. One stitch at a time. I wanted the stitch to be heavy enough to have as much importance as the other components. I outlined the area with a single strand of red stitch before filling it in. I usually pull the outline thread out after filling in the field. But. I don't know this time.
Note to self: Something about this piece reminds me of the old needlework samplers. The roof triangle also seems like an amulet.

I made this block to show you how I started the center of Endless Wishing.
The method for building the center "woven patchwork" motif.
There is no reason for me to do the same thing again.
The concept is the same.
The mosaic can also be a base for further collage, tucked in or not. It was Nancy's comment on the last post, about heart house, that led me here. Gave it context. Story. Perhaps I might create a roof with a field of stitch? The way I created the star points on Endless Wishing. Can you imagine that working? I wish I might count the way I've been nourished by all your comments here.
The rain has stopped and there is still more shit to shovel. I'm up for it.

Weave. So close to my heart.
Like patchwork.
How they came together in my mind. What pleasure I feel as I embrace that.
I am happy to share it with you.
With a simple method of tuck and stitch, I call it The Mosaic, You might use your woven base just like graph paper. Coloring in the squares. Or boxes depending on your grid. With Loose Patches.

The good kind.
Away this weekend. Shoveling it.
Before the rain moves in.
Spreading a little love.

The center is Cloth Woven.
I will focus on that, as I look back from where I came.
...and go round and round and round in the circle game.(Joni Mitchell)
