Green Calm

No time for gardening. But then, this is gardening for now.

We cleared. Worked hard to maximize a bit of lawn (really not just grass) space and clear the hill. 

Nothing planted. Still so much to eat. Wild salad and berries at forest's edge.

Some perennial herbs along the rock ridge.

Keeping growth low around the house minimizes ticks and mosquitoes.

With timing so unsettled and road trips pending, this will work just fine.

I offer you simply green as I stitch a few things together in my mind.

Out of the Blue

 

Sanity # ?

I have lost count.

But I haven't lost track.

This is one of my favorite composition styles.

The Sanity Effect. A math. There is a center, nine, the square, a sense of expansion. And always another box. A challenge yet a point of reference.

The sanity series is based on a simple quilt math of 1-2-3 (inches). The piece is now 15" square.

Composition is so much about point of reference. Composition is a kind of story in itself. Composition will need it's own page over there.

Late last night I was calling this Off the Wall, today I am back to Out of the Blue. If I keep taking these off the wall and letting them expand, there will be no space left between them when they are pinned back up and they all might become one. A thought. Just caught. In the spirit of thinking.
