I think stories always have two sides and so with that in mind my feather has two titles.
The feather who learned to crawl, The snake who learned to fly.
From brainstorming to completion it took a full six hours and I’ve never been so excited.
The idea came from the fact that snakes seem to have an odd connection with me. In the last year I’ve accidentally touched three alone, despite moving to differing states and locations I still seem to have some sort of relationship with serpents. Not something I’ve ever felt terribly comfortable with because the encounters are of the purely accidental variety. It’s a relationship that has been present since childhood, wanted or not.
So using my fear to my advantage I started to think of myself as a snake and after a few sketches. I was ready, five point harness on. Magic Cloth under my feet.
Stitched on the heirloom linen napkins that were originally my great, great grandmothers.
