A Little Bit can go a Long Way

I caught myself thinking this morning.

About how much I really need.

Sometimes this much can last all week...

I painted the inside of this old wooden bowl white. A while ago. So I could see the colors better. And I drilled a few holes and made a loop for hanging, while it is waiting to hold the beginnings of another small journey. And that loop is a piece of wrapped leather that is part of an old ankle bracelet I made and wore in 1969. Time flies and scraps remain.

Eclipse

The moon was visible.

It was dark inside. Low lamplight. And as I waited I looked around. I thought eclipse might be considered as a compositional element.

How new form might evolve from disappearing. The pictures were blurry but that's how thoughts begin.

And then I fell asleep. I woke up early but it was too late.

This morning...

When you catch a thought you might hold it long enough to make it useful. Sometimes it takes a long time.

So Where is the Snow?

Snow is like an eraser. I thought that.

I could use one right now right now. I thought that too.

The man bought me a digital pencil.

I'm doodling.

or undoodling...

Grace, who doesn't like the word doodle, had me consider that.

Do I? Is it too "cute"? No, I do. I like the word doodle. It's like Just Going and Thought Catching. Without too much ado. (adoodle?)

Also, my nickname was Doody when I was very small. And then later, before Jude, in my private journals, I spelled my name Joody. Now, when I doodle, I call myself joodle hill.

Erasing is doodling. And design mending with less. Mending can be taking away. Once I cut off my sleeves to fix the holes in the elbows.

I feel a bit silly today. I erased worry for a few moments.

 

Arggggh

Nope. I planned a Spirit Cloth Shop update with the Moon, which just so happens to be Black Friday.

So Not.

Instead, a walk by sea perhaps.

Maybe work on some New Eyes.

There's a chill in the studio.

Have a good holiday. We will celebrate by not eating. And being thankful.
