Not only July. But almost August.
And a pile of Small Journeys.
An almost September like morning. Says stack wood. Don't forget.
A summer bookmat to keep track of summer days remaining. And hot humid days that had me on bitch alert left gifts. Reminders to be grateful and less shortsighted.
Tomato Moon it will be then. To mark some sort of UnDoing, UnGlue-ing of ways.

Finally.
I imagine that someday, sometime, what I expect to happen just might not. For now, I am grateful to have these ripening tomatoes. And the reassurance of their continuing.
I stitched this early this morning. It is not a 9 patch, but I really like these colors together. I am looking and thinking how one thing might replace another. How that might be less obvious over time. And simply seem like continuing.

Avoiding thoughts doesn't make them unthunk.
So. Book. No Book. Book.
Keeps coming up.
Book . Journal. Diary. Story. Record.
Measure. I pick that. Measure.
A book. A book might be a thing that measures the time spent giving it form.
If I cross paths with Book, we will both be going. In motion. Maybe for a moment seeming still. But not.
Note to self: Thingness is only a temporary measure.
In going through things. Lessening. I came across this old photo collage (the not digital kind) done by my son in high school way back when he first started taking pictures. I like how it moves and stands still at the same time.
Speaking of measure, I had no idea what day it was when I woke up and I love that.

So. I have been doodling for ever. Not just on Wednesdays, although that was official for a while.
I guess I started out on paper. Then I moved to cloth. But not in the same way really. The mediums are different. And how I feel about them. And somehow cloth always seemed more precious than paper. And doodles on cloth, more deliberate for a purpose that was part of a plan.
So this time thinking about cloth as paper. How that might change my approach.
Later, I think, thinking about paper as cloth. Probably I want to bring them closer together. Let the sense of what they are as a medium cross over. Without creating any multi-media approach. Because I don't like that much. I am more of a purist in that regard.
And now the cat's got the hoop.

Be Useful
The Explainer, travels with the cloth we call Home.
He is a pocket, a safe keeper, maybe for questions or anything else that needs to rest. And he might be a traveling companion.
Or he might stick close to Home.
I am done. Shooting photos and preparing a site (link to be published soon) where the project might be reviewed in the order of days. Gathering the pieces of the long story has taken time. Longer than planned or imagined.
Now just getting ready to pack it up and let it go. Solstice falls on Sunday. And so does Father's Day. And the same day is the day my mother died, already 2 years ago. How did that happen?
Monday then.
I am truly exhausted, but in that good way. Like a long day in the garden.
