Below is a bit about ThreadCrumbs. If you have already read it you might continue directly to the shop using this link. The shop will most likely be updated twice a week on Fridays and Wednesdays. A few stray bits might just wander in I think. Now and then.
I have created a new shop, ThreadCrumbs, in order to share a lot of the scraps of self and stray bits that have rescued along the way, over the years. I hope it can be a unique little supply shop for those (I did this for YOU) who take inspiration from Feel Free and follow along with the ramblings of this old slow stitcher.
The shop itself is built on my personal dedication to rescuing, re-purposing and mending old scrap. Telling it's story, and finding these stray bits a new home in my work and the work of others. In a way I consider them little teaching cloths. It's about allowing them to be a part of creative voice and to become again useful. All the offerings are hand picked, soft and light, easy to stitch, friendly to the needle and thread and perfect for the kind of work I do. And maybe yours too! I've realized that finding materials that I work with is not always so easy these days. Cloth calls out to me for help. And so the idea was born.
The Spirit Cloth circle has expanded over the years. I get many disgruntled messages that the shop is always sold out and can't I offer a bit more. This old gal can only handle so much. So I decided to collaborate with EXOTBLUE, (that's my brother and his partner), who now live in Mom's house, not so far away. They have agreed to handle some of the administrative drudgery involved with the shop, like packing and shipping. And to work closely with me, doing some dyeing with me and sometimes for me, dyeing some of my designs and ideas on my own fabric scraps in order to make more available. The shop itself will hold a mix of scrap packs that might be dyed by me or them or both. There will also be some stitched bits by Moi. So this is my solution to the demand for these little things. This will keep the prices generous (it runs in the family) and still allow me to share little scraps of my own vision for cloth making. Be assured, my hands and heart are always in it.
