Spirit Cloth

First Freeze Coming and 1-2-3.

 Third Sunday in October.

ONE.  The squirrels got into my acorn walnut dye soup while I was tidying the studio. Ok.

Start over.

TWO. Still green here with the first hard frost expected tonight. So...

Hung a flag to help things along.  Some October color. Old tie dyed silk scrap by Richard Carbin, like only Richard can do. If you need any vintage silk to dye, he's the man.... I met Richard though Glennis. So there you go. He is in Japan. She goes there often for her Silk Study Tours. On occasion you might find some old silk in her shop as well.  Some folks were asking about  a source for that. You can buy new silk of course but really I would rather support folks trying to make an honest living to support their families. And really there is nothing like old silk. To Dye for.

THREE.  I just unrolled this and named it Feel Free.  Naming things for me has a lot to do with the moment.  I named it something else before, but today it's Feel Free. I started this one during a teaching series, so I will probably be able to find some old videos and stuff.

But right now, some last minute garden rescue is in order.  The Man feels fine, I feel free and the camera issue has been resolved.

Flying  Near 9 Moons.

 

 

I named the moment.  Naming things is sort of like telling a story in as few words as possible. Some days it is harder than others.

 

The sense of connection

 

It is raining and raining and raining.

So I am inside with cloth.

. . . . . . . . .

 

 

I'm thinking about vibration.

How it extends reach.

 

Something(s)

Somewhere. Flying. Or changing to accommodate that.  Home. I call it that.  A safe place to consider transformation without  fear of falling.

A few scraps of self.  A little help from my friends. Poof.   !  

 

Almost June

Mostly the stitching done today is not that obvious.  But the cloth feels better. Likewise,a lot of the tweaking of the blog was done behind the scenes to facilitate some changes that will be coming in June.  Thanks for your patience.

Just a minute ago I stitched this.  Still defining the lives between the wings.

Winged things

 

 

Everything on the cloth I call HOME wants to become a flying thing.... there was a lot of becoming today.  Typepad was down and I stitched and planted onions and stitched,  and well,  a lot got done. Mostly embroidery. A good reminder about computer time.  It was just fine.  Most likely, I will migrate away from Typepad....change things up a bit.

How it might seem

 

Looking back and looking forward at the same time left her suspended. Suspended in December.

Wrapped in winter's coming.

Not yet needing spring.

Left her able to rest in just the sense of season.

That Just Going that has found its perfect direction. 

She hoped to learn this way that one thing becomes another without judgement.

Yet not without unspoken  choice.

She felt close.

She had no bible.

She hung by an invisible thread.

There was no falling.

 

 

Only wind.

Good will

and a winter moon.

 

Late night imaginings

I wish

 Yesterday I looked at this one.  Continuing from here.  Just looked. 

I thought about finishing it.  Then I thought about wishing. Wishing might be just imagining. A sense of possibility.  A keeper of that.

I thought about how different those things are.  Wishing and doing.  But then not, considering how one thing might lead to another if you keep going.

A wish is good.  It is a beginning. A beginning is never undone. It is patient. It waits, persists.  I wish to finish this one today.

But today, I will work on the Magic Feather Cloth I call HOME.  Where the flight path has become a Ring of Wishes. Some still being born. Some kind of endless flow. 

I won't finish this today, but the wishes will keep me going.
