...so what if the base was a sandwich and what if the top layer was
sheer? I have a lot of old fragile fragments. Sometimes too fragile to
form a surface. I could put them under glass but then I cannot touch
them. What if I catch them between two very thin layers of cloth. and
stitch them carefully, almost invisibly together. If I use a sheer cloth on top, I will still see the beauty of the pattern, it could be a
beautiful and subtle background for a new story.
A shadow box in a way.
You could use
teeny pieces. Really tattered. Shreds. And when you were done basting the sandwich, all those little pieces
would be like one cloth.
I suppose this could work with scrim or cheesecloth as well. But then again, that would be a lot of basting. Always thinking.....
