Welcome to the Spirit Cloth 101 Workshop
Thank you for being here.
I created this workshop to teach the basics of my cloth making style. I have given many classes devoted to specific techniques and concepts, but in the process, I never really approached teaching from this simpler and broader overall angle. This class will detail the very basics of my approach and will gather the core techniques from all my other courses into one general learning experience. I have a fairly simple and free-form primitive approach to art quilting and cloth construction. I don't feel that I teach the "right way" to sew, just my own way, because it works for me. Now that I am older and have many moons behind me, I feel I have developed my own unique style by twisting and redefining traditional and historical methods to fit my contemporary needs. This is what I will share with you. I will also touch on the basics of a story-style that I use to develop the concepts behind my work.
So...(or should I say Sew! Ha....)
Please Note:
This "work on your own class" was compiled from a workshop hosted as an interactive forum. The forum has closed, commenting has been disabled, but this class site is still open to anyone who was in that workshop along with anyone who is here for the work on your own format. Access is permanent. Some changes in presentation have been made, but all the content remains available. The posts are now in order from start to finish if you want to view by scrolling down OR there is a list in the sidebar if you would like to follow that way.
This course is supplemented with audio recordings that appear as grey bars marked Audio. Click to listen. To date all persons have been able to listen without a problem. (Audios were recorded in the warmer months, often with the studio windows open... with birds, wind and bugs in the background)
If you have any questions, feel free to email me using the link in the sidebar.
