
I worked on this last night, and yes, decided to keep it simple. Added a few small butterflies along the seams. Just a bit of split back stitch, row against row, I used two stands of white floss for the wings and two strands of black for the bodies. I use the glue stitch to tack down the wings and will use a tiny overcast to tack down the edges further, one stand to make if fairly invisible. Maybe a few more butterflies to make it nine. And touches of color. Then I will be ready to back it and quilt. I think the simplicity, the plain space with room to fly goes along with my concept of freedom. Don't you agree?
